Tutorial: Mastering Our Chatbot on ViewBots

Welcome to Viewbots, where engaging with your audience is made easy with our chatbot functionality. Whether you're a seasoned streamer or just starting, this tutorial will guide you through using our chatbot to enhance your streaming experience. Let's dive in!

Setting Up Your Chatbot

Before unleashing the full potential of your chatbot, you need to decide on its mode of operation. You have three choices:

• No List Configuration: In this mode, no chatbots will be active in your stream chat. However, accounts will still appear in your viewer list, giving you a subtle boost in viewership numbers without active chatting.
• Default Chatlists: For more engagement, start your bot using one of our pre-made chatlists. This will populate your stream with lively conversations, making your channel a hub of interaction. (Coming Soon)
• Custom Chatlists: These are lists that are bespoke to you, and created in the Chatlists section of your dashboard, they are entirely customizable with a range of features to assist you.

Crafting Custom Chatlists

First and foremost, just to note, bot identifiers and delays do NOT need to be added, these are entirely optional to assist you in making your chatbot as authentic as possible.

For a tailored experience, custom chatlists are your go-to feature. Here's how to manage them:

• Accessing Chatlists: On your dashboard, locate the "Chatlists" section on the left of your dashboard. This is your control room for chatlists.

• Creating and Managing Chatlists: Here you can create new chatlists, or edit and remove existing ones. To create a new chatlist, simply click the "New Chatlist" button and give it a name.

• Writing Chatlists: When crafting messages for your bots, use curly brackets with numbers to designate bot identities. For example:

• {:1} Hey how are you doing today?

• {:2} Pretty well thanks, and yourself?

• {:1} Yeah not too bad.

This script prompts the bots to carry on a conversation, creating a realistic chat flow.

Adding Delays to Messages

To make conversations even more authentic, you can add a specific delay to each message line using the following format:

• {:1} Hey how are you doing today? {1500ms}
• {:2} Pretty well thanks, and yourself? {2000ms}
• {:1} Yeah not too bad {2000ms}

The numbers within the curly brackets {} denote the delay in milliseconds before the next message appears.

Understanding Global Delay

Global Delay can be seen on the left hand side of your chatlist creator called "Message Delay", apart from individual message delays, this is your global delay function located in your chatlist editor. This delay is applied on top of any you set within your chatlist, controlling the pace of the entire conversation.

Final Checklist Before Going Live

Before activating your chatbot, ensure the following settings are configured correctly on Twitch:

• Your Twitch chat should not be set to follower-only mode.
• Avoid using the verified-only chat setting.

These settings can prevent the chatbot from functioning as intended. We're currently developing compatibility with these features and will roll them out in the future.
